Volunteer Teams

Short term volunteer teams travel with OWH several times each year to participate in food and clothing distributions and mobile medical clinics, and to complete valuable work projects offering help and hope for the future in tangible ways.  A few examples of OWH team projects include the expansion of an overcrowded school building, the painting of a dirty and run down health clinic, the installation of safe drinking water systems, and participation in agriculture projects which provide nourishment and independence to the recipient families. Other examples of team activities are visiting children’s hospitals and orphanages to distribute toys and teddy bears and provide activities for children, assisting with the child sponsorship food distributions, and visiting refugee camps to provide relief for natural disaster victims. Team trips usually last one week and include a variety of activities in order that all may use their gifts and talents.
