Making a Difference!
I
cannot believe that five years have passed since
we came face to face with Elias Zacharias, the
first starving child whose life was saved by
Outreach for World Hope in eastern Guatemala.
It seems like yesterday that we were approaching
family and friends as potential Board Members
and facing the daunting task of applying to the
IRS for nonprofit status so as to begin our
ministry. As I sifted through photographs and
memories of our work in Guatemala over the past
5 years, I was overcome
with emotion many times, and filled with
gratitude for the trust, confidence, support,
encouragement, perseverance, generosity and
commitment of all of you who have walked this
road with us and made our work possible. I saw
the faces of family and friends, our faithful
staff, countless volunteers, mission team
members, and grateful recipients of the benefits
of our programs. I saw photos of completed
projects resulting from two cultures in
collaboration together for a common goal. And I
saw sponsored children receiving your food and
gifts with joy and gratitude in their hearts.
The collection of “before and after” photos of
children who have gone from starvation to health
as a result of the collective efforts of all of
us, are the best reward, and make all of our
work worthwhile.
As you
peruse the pages of this web site, some of the
children will be familiar to you and we hope you
will remember and celebrate this journey with
us. We often say we truly believe that we are
all members of God’s relay team, each having a
different baton to carry. We are thankful to God
that he put each of you on this team and hope
you have been blessed by the role you have
played. We could not have done this without the
love, encouragement, generosity and prayers of
all you, the OWH family.
We sincerely pray that you will
continue on this journey with us into the future
in anticipation of great things to come and the
many blessings we will receive and bestow upon
others as we serve together in His name.
Peace and
Blessings,
Kim and Randy
